Description

The primary aim of this programme is to train specialised professionals with expertise in various areas of management, specifically in its strategic, operational and technological dimensions. The aim is therefore for Master’s graduates in Business Management to develop scientific, functional, cross-disciplinary and multidisciplinary skills within the field of Business Studies, enabling them to implement market-oriented strategic and operational solutions, embodied in the provision of high-value products and/or services, which contribute to enhancing social sustainability and the well-being of society.

​The following may apply for the Master’s in Business Management:

1. ​Holders of a bachelor’s degree in Business Sciences, Social and Behavioural Sciences and related fields, or a legally equivalent qualification;
2. Holders of a foreign higher education qualification awarded following a first-cycle programme organised in accordance with the principles of the Bologna Process by a country participating in this Process;
3. Holders of a foreign higher education qualification recognised by the Scientific Council of the University of Maia as meeting the objectives of a bachelor’s degree;
4. Holders of an academic, scientific or professional background recognised by the Scientific Council of the University of Maia as demonstrating the ability to undertake this cycle of studies.
   

People who​​ have a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences, Accounting, Economics, Business Management, Marketing Management, Human Resource Management, Sport Management, Computer Science for Business Management, Public Relations, Tourism, a similar subject, or a legal equivalent.

A Master’s degree tailored to the needs of those without specific training in management.

This Master’s degree is specially designed for non-managers who wish to develop their skills in the field of business studies.

​Graduates of the Master’s in Business Management at the University of Maia will possess enhanced skills in entrepreneurship, enabling them to create their own jobs or businesses, as well as being better equipped to take on general or sector-specific management roles in any area of business.

Lecturers on this Master’s programme are affiliated with research units rated ‘Very Good’, such as the Interdisciplinary Centre for Social Sciences (CICS.NOVA) and the Centre for Transdisciplinary Studies for Development (CEDTRAD), and rated “Good” by the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Human Rights (DH-CII) and the Centre for Business Studies (NECE) in an international evaluation conducted by the FCT.

All professions in the​ field of business management: general manager, finance director, director of marketing, director of human resources, as well as all planning, organisation, coordination and control duties within organisations.
